What will be your daily pursuit?:
The Sr. Financial Analyst – Support Services is full-time, year-round role reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. The key mandate of this role is to provide fact-based, analytical decision support and insight to Pursuit’s Support Services (Marketing, Sales, People & Culture, Accounting & Finance, and IT) leadership teams around the world.

Through its Refresh Build Buy strategy, Pursuit has experienced rapid growth, doubling revenue and EBITDA since 2015. Concurrently, Pursuit’s support services functions have evolved to a customer-centric, data-driven organization with a strong focus on guest and employee satisfaction. As the world emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic and demand for iconic and unforgettable travel experiences rebounds, Pursuit seeks to accelerate its growth trajectory by further increasing these analytic capabilities.

The Sr. Financial Analyst – Support Services will play a critical role in assisting Pursuit’s Marketing team by providing insightful and actionable decision support on new business opportunities, through modeling of guest visitation and revenue and ultimately creating a repeatable process and methodology for sizing new opportunities, working closely with the Finance, Revenue Maximization and Corporate Development functions. The Analyst will also support the existing, day-to-day Marketing organization by way of applying a fact-based lens to understanding current visitation, guest demographics and customer trends, ultimately helping to inform the highest and best use of the marketing budget.

In support of the Sales team, the Analyst will play a key role in developing and maintaining performance reports out of Salesforce/Delphi, helping Pursuit’s Leadership Team understand and visualize new business won, pipeline opportunities and performance. She or he will leverage this data to inform pricing decisions and trade-offs with key partners to inform future contract pricing strategies.

The Analyst will also assist other Support Services teams (People & Culture, Accounting & Finance, and IT), working to drive detailed expense and labor management, ultimately working to create return on investment for key initiatives.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000

What will you do in this job?:
Provide day to day analytical and decision support to Pursuit’s global Marketing and Sales teams

Develop repeatable methodology and process for sizing guest visitation and revenue opportunities for acquisitions & new experience developments, utilizing visitation data from Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), airports, highway traffic, etc.

Work to understand in-market guests around the world, including overnight and daytime destination visitors to help inform assumptions on guest capture rate for new experiences

Partnering with the Marketing leadership team to confirm optimal allocation of budget aligned based on research and analysis related to guest demographics and visitation trends

Develop and maintain models to inform expected return on investment on future marketing campaigns, strategies, and tactics

Create and deploy performance reporting from the company’s Salesforce/Delphi application, promoting timely and accurate understanding of sales KPIs and progress towards target achievement

Apply strength in financial modeling to assist Sales, Marketing and Revenue Maximization teams in evaluating pricing and promotion decisions and trade-offs and tiering of travel trade partners around the world

Participate in the Company’s annual budgeting process, working with each Support Services leader and the broader Finance organization to develop revenue build-ups by channel, guest segment and location, as well as detailed expense and labor budgets

Administer the Sales incentive plan through real-time tracking of new business generated by Sales team members

What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or certification related to finance, marketing analytics, or data sciences with a minimum of 5 years’ experience

Strong command of Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling) and experience using SQL, Power BI, or other analytical capabilities

Experience working in a Marketing and/or Sales decision-support capacity

A natural curiosity about the business and the internal/external factors that influence results; natural tendency to ask “why,” to challenge the status quo and to dig in to address unresolved questions

Relentless energy, a strong sense of urgency and a bias toward action as opposed to waiting to be instructed on what to do

What will your work environment be like?:
This role is based in Calgary, Alberta or Denver, Colorado. Legal ability to work in one of these countries is required. This role is full-time, benefit eligible.
