Walden Physicians- City of Lakes Family Health Team Looking for Clinical Assistant at Lively, ON Full Time

We are seeking a mature, reliable individual to join our team.

Your primary role as the Clinical Assistant is to ensure the physician’s day runs as smoothly as possible. You will provide support for up to 4 physicians (although during COVID we seldom have all 4 in the office at once). Your main duties will be to escort patients to exam rooms, take vitals and enter data into the chart (EMR) for the physician; clean and stock exams rooms between patients; and ensure that the next patient is ready to be seen. Ideally, you will have experience in a family medical practice or similar role. This job requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Answer telephone inquiries from patients and outside agencies and provide information as required
• Data entry into EMR
• Downloading incoming faxes and flagging for physician review in EMR
• Prep exam rooms as needed and bring patients in
• Support to physicians with patient care including taking blood pressures, height, weight, etc
• Urine dips/ urine drug screens as needed
• Search for results on Meditech as directed by physician
• Maintain and stock exam rooms for physicians
• Clean exam rooms as per IPAC protocols
• Prepare/Assist with minor in-office procedures
• Order/Track/Receive Medical Supplies
• Send and receive messages and documents using fax machine or email
• Photocopy and collate documents for distribution, mailing and filing
• Provide reception coverage when needed
• Booking appointments into EMR schedule as needed
• Set up for After Hours Clinic as needed

Bilingualism is considered an asset but not required. Training will be provided. Candidates with prior experience in a clinical setting will be given preference. Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
