Job Overview

We have a new role open in our team for a Cost Accountant. You will spend your day helping us to become more efficient by not only performing accounting work but also analyzing operational and financial data to prepare financial and management reports. To excel in this role, you need proven knowledge of and experience in cost accounting, management accounting, and operational and financial analysis in a manufacturing environment.

You are responsible for assisting the Finance / Accounting department with below mentioned.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in month-end/quarter-end close activities to ensure completion of assigned tasks (account reconciliations, journal entries, etc.) in a timely manner.
• Collect, update, and analyze all relevant costing data to create and maintain standard costs for materials and labor
• Coordinate cycle counts and investigate cycle counting variances and resolves issues
• Reconcile raw materials, work in progress and finished goods inventory
• Update standard costs in the bill of materials
• Assist with ERP implementation
• Maintain various supporting schedules
• Track and monitor capital expenditures
• Support with budgeting and forecasting for costing and other related areas
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Serve as a backup and support for AR/AP
• Identify areas for improvement in production, supply chain, logistics and inventory management
• Review of the integrity and reasonableness of the cost accounting systems on a periodic basis
• Participate in ad hoc projects

Recipe for Success:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Working towards CPA designation
• 2+ years of experience in a cost accounting and analysis role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
• Organized and detail oriented with the ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data
• Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to influence change
• Highly proficient in Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables), knowledge of ERP systems
• Understanding of manufacturing plant operations process flow
• Experience with QuickBooks
