Angus Reid is looking for a motivated and talented Junior Accountant to join the team.
Reporting to the Controller the Junior Accountant is responsible for carrying out administrative accounting activities related to day to day project or operational finance.
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for setting up new projects and generating project codes
· Works with the Sales and Operations team to prepare weekly invoices for distribution to customers.
· Manages all receivable schedules and follows up on outstanding payments
· Manages all aspects of project accounting software including revenue recognition
· Ensures all revenue and cost data reconciles between the systems
· Close out project accounts upon project completion
· Works with project staff along with accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, finance and other related departments to assist with preparation of financial reports.
· Reviews and issues monthly project cost reports that includes forecasted costs and total monthly variance to plan.
· Prepares reports on project profitability
· Prepares month end WIP entry
· Prepares month end reconciliation worksheets to ensure amounts tie to the balance sheet
· Prepares and enters month end entries such as subcontract accruals and cost transfers
· Assists with creating monthly payment schedules and setting up payment runs
· Manages vendor requests relating to payment status inquiries and updates
Required Knowledge And Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
· 2+ years of experience, may be pursuing CPA designation or equivalent.
· Experience with Salesforce and Kimble
· Progressive experience that indicates strong analytical, detail oriented and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to balance and prioritize multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
· Strong ability to think creatively, challenge the status quo, deal with ambiguity.
· History of strong personal performance and value add to the business.
· Demonstrated success working with internal/ external stakeholders.
· Strong financial acumen and relevant financial skills
Broad business knowledge, end-to-end thinking, and organizational awareness.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
