LD Human Resources Looking for Accounting Manager at Toronto, ON Full Time

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join one of our client’s growing team. Our client is a mid-size, privately owned company in the gaming and technology industry located in the core of Toronto offering a hybrid work opportunity.

The full-time Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO and will be responsible for various responsibilities such as, but not limited to:

• Lead the monthly close and consolidation process including preparing journal entries and ensuring the consolidated financial statements are properly prepared
• Prepare quarterly and year-end financial statements along with corresponding notes
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis including investigating discrepancies and managing any issues.
• Perform P&L analysis comparing results to budget and analyzing cost fluctuations from month to month and year to year.
• Investigate and correct discrepancies/irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Support the year end audit process and deliverables
• Identifying and implementing process improvements including documentation of controls
• Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
• Process vendor invoices for payments
• Process payroll and employee benefits
• Participate in system implementation and accounting integration through data migration and testing and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of GL data.
• Assist management with ad hoc audit requests, reports, and process documentation.
• Prepare regular updated weekly cashflow reports for management
• Work with part time accountant on processing of various transactions

Requirements

• 3-5 years relevant experience or in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Designated accounting professional (CPA, CA preferred) with financial reporting experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero; knowledge of other systems is an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience in SRED is an asset
• Self-starter, professional, self-confident and organized
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently an as part of a team
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced, and changing work environment
• Must be able to commute to office in Toronto
