Founded on December 23, 2016 and incorporated on January 20, 2017, SCOTT CONCRETE SERVICES INC., is a privately owned full-service concrete contractor that provides a service specific to reinforced concrete foundations, footings and floors. We pride ourselves with our vast experience and the ability to perform all aspects of Concrete Construction from Concrete Footings and Foundations to Concrete Floors; Concrete Slabs; Structural Concrete; Custom Forming; Rebar Installation and Excavation, regardless of complexity, in any part of North America or abroad.

Position: Concrete Operations Manager – Concrete Construction

Overview:

The Operations Manager has direct responsibility for the operations, dispatch, inventory management, plant/fleet maintenance, performance, quality control and employee relations. The Operations Manager will work closely with finance, human resources, quality control personnel and clients in a professional and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop
  • Collaborate daily with the project manager(s).
  • Read and interpret contract documents, code requirements, blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities
  • Plan the site before departure in collaboration with the project manager and the logistics and transport director.
  • Ensure compliance with all project budgets.
  • Develop and maintain all project key performance indicators.
  • Develop all project schedules in collaboration with project managers and project controls.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Ensure that on-site inspections are carried out and that the documents relating to COR and ISO standards are correctly completed.
  • Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE and health and safety standards
  • In charge of employees’ timesheets and other reports.
  • Manage and coordinate production, storage and general distribution in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Develop plans and manage the efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Develop work processes to meet and exceed company goals and objectives
  • Complete required paperwork (reports, forms, letters, etc.)
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in related field, while further education is an asset
  • Min 10 years experience in operations management, concrete/construction industry, or in a supervisory role
  • Significant work experience with a concrete construction environment is required.
  • Valid drivers license
  • A Class 1 or 3 driver’s license (QC) or a Class A or D driver’s license (Ont.) would be an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude an asset
  • ACI Field certification an asset
  • Efficient operations management, leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning, problem solving, and analytical skills followed by the desire to seek solutions.
