Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate will provide Human Resources support to Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited and its divisions, with multiple locations across Canada. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen desire to grow in the area of Human Resources and will be responsible for a variety of generalist functions supporting an assigned client group.
Your day to day activities will include:
Provide guidance and coaching to leadership on employee relations matters such as performance management, career development & resource planning, and conflict resolution
Assist management with collective agreement administration and interpretation, including grievance investigation and resolution
Provide coaching to all levels of employees and management regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
Participate in HR related projects and initiatives, including policy development, communications, and training
Identify and evaluate changes in industry practices and business trends, and capitalize on opportunities that will improve the company’s competitive advantage
Support our leaves of absence management program along with employees and managers throughout the leaves process
Conduct culture checks and investigations where required
Provide business partner support by anticipating client group requirements and providing high quality customer service in a timely and accurate manner to managers and employees
The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources or a related field
Candidates with an HR certification or working towards their designation would be an asset
3-5 years Human Resources experience in a Generalist role
Prior experience in manufacturing, operations, or agriculture is required
Previous experience in labour relations would be an asset
Must be competent using Microsoft Office Applications including advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint; must be comfortable hosting and participating in video conferencing
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to research, recommend and communicate viable solutions to complex issues
Must be flexible in your ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances, having a high tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty as business conditions change
Independent thinking and the ability to predict the impact of decisions on the business
