Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking temporary full-time and part-time Instructors. The ideal candidate is a great communicator and passionate about student success. We are seeking instructors who are not only excellent teachers, but also great at teamwork, coordinating with other instructors, and with the programs that we teach into. The ideal instructor is able to plan a curriculum, develop training materials, and effectively use communication technology. The ideal instructor is also passionate about their own professional development.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree: Applied Linguistics, Communication, Education, English Literature, or other relevant discipline
Teaching experience.
Assets:
Post-secondary teaching experience in business/technical writing courses
Corporate training experience
PhD in a relevant discipline
ESL experience/certification
Writing: experience creating business/technical documents (reports, manuals, etc.)
Presentations: experience developing and delivering presentations
Teamwork: experience managing teams or participating in teams
Professional experience in one or more of the technical programs that we teach into.
Successful new candidates will be required to participate in a BCIT Instructional Skills Workshop prior to class start-up. All successful candidates must be able to teach Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.

Salary Range $56,845 to $99,571 per annum
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
