We have one prep shift a day- your hours can be slightly flexible- A variation of 8am-4pm, 7am-3pm or 6am-2pm… heck even 5am-1pm would work!! You are mostly completing the job solo but obviously surrounded by some great people and working as a team overall to keep the restaurant running at it’s best! You will also be cross trained in order to help the team through a rush if need be! PREP COOK
Position Summary:
Prepares all necessary in-house items as per the Mezza Recipe Book. Maintains a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards. May occasionally train new hires in the position of prep. Reports directly to restaurant assistant managers.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and cook meals in accordance with the corporate recipe and procedures.
2. Working quickly and efficiently to get the prep list completed as quickly as possible
3. Prepare food order summaries for the management according to requests from catering clients and customers.
4. Maintain records of training, repairs, and maintenance.
5. Establish methods to meet teach and streamline training modules.
6. Train less experienced staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
7. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
8. Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the Operations Manual.
9. Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
10. Prioritizes and organizes tasks for speed and quality assurance.
11. Clean kitchen and work areas.
