You will lead a team of accountants to deliver superior service to internal stakeholders and maintain the company’s finances. With your oversight responsibilities for credit and invoicing, you will also play a key role in Giatec’s revenue engine working with Sales and Operations to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled in a timely manner while mitigating Giatec’s legal and financial risk. This role is perfect for a seasoned accountant looking to gain more operational experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations including invoicing, A/R, A/P, general ledger, inventory, etc.
Assist in reviewing customer PO’s for legal terms, approval of credit, etc.
Oversee monthly financial close and review reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc financial reporting, including financial reports for lenders, funding sources and other stakeholders.
Lead and oversee the annual audit; as well as, ad-hoc audits related to funding sources.
Manage payroll process in collaboration with Human Resources, including calculation of commissions.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and adequate internal controls are in place.
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, Accounting, Finance or any related field.
Professional accounting designation (CPA,CA or CPA).
5-7 years of progressive experience in Accounting and/or Finance roles.
2+ years of experience in management or supervisory roles.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE and/or IFRS)
Solid technical accounting skills and experience with various accounting software.
Ability to quickly understand systems and data to make data-informed decisions.
Strong people management skills with the ability to coach and mentor more junior staff.
Strong time management skills with the ability to work in high paced environment where priorities change quickly.
