Job description
Summary:
We are excited when our team members, like our current Coordinator, earn exciting new career opportunities. Now we start a search for someone equally as passionate and qualified as they were.
The Coordinator is a full-time position that organizes and implements community mental health educational programs for youth throughout the region. The existing programs include one day weekend workshops, evening programs, and potentially, as pandemic response restrictions allow, one or more weekend retreats.
This position requires positive interactions with youth of all ages, as well as their caregivers, problem solving, organization, a flexible and positive attitude, significant people skills, teamwork and a willingness to take initiative. These skills enable the Coordinator to shape the work by delivering the established program material creatively and carry out well planned new programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree in the social sciences or equivalent level of experience and education
- Experience in group mental health facilitation
- Knowledge of mental health conditions
- ASIST certificate
- Ability to work well with youth of all ages
- Organizational and Administrative skills
- Standard First Aid & CPR or equivalent
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- CYIM and Criminal Record clearance
- A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program promotion and administration
- Driving the process of program awareness to achieve full classes
- Maintaining all records and data tracking from registering to evaluations
Recruiting, interviewing and screening potential participants
- Communicating effectively with interested youth to encourage participation
- Ensuring the attending youth are excited about attending
Workshop Operation
- Running all event aspects – from organizing the food to cleaning the room
- Most importantly, facilitating a dynamic and meaningful workshop
The suitable candidate must be available for some evening and weekend hours and have the ability to occasionally travel to other communities in the Peace Country.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $42,000.00-$52,000.00 per year

- Grande Prairie, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
