Altair Engineering Looking for Software Engineer – C++/Python at Troy, ON Full Time

Job Summary:
The candidate must have professional experience in commercial software development. The position entails working within a development team of half a dozen developers, to create shared software components. These shared components interact with the rest of the applications which the organization develops. In addition to maintaining the shared components, the team is responsible for pulling its own core components together to deliver a standalone multi-run application called HyperStudy.

Object oriented design, implementation and deployment experience is a requirement of this position. Practical experience of working with customers in the field or via hotline support is highly desirable. Understanding Design Of Experiments (DOE), Stochastics, Optimization study and job distribution approaches is beneficial. Practical experience of using multi-run tools and technology to evaluate Computer Aided Engineering systems is also desirable. Work will be in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment that requires the ability to learn quickly and work both independently and collaboratively in the HyperStudy development effort. What You Will Need:
Basics:
BSCS or BSME or equivalent

At least 3-5 years professional software development work experience

Strong problem-solving skills with the passion to follow through

Experience working on a large-scale software systems.

Experience in Object Oriented design and implementation (UML, C++, Python)

Experience with Q/A procedures and testing techniques.

Preferred:
Perforce source code control system experience

Windows Dev Studio development experience with C++

UNIX experience including Linux

Qt development,

Knowledge of FEA and MBD use cases

Scripting experience (Python, Tcl/Tk)

Location: Ideally Troy, Michigan but remote work can be an option
