Based in Vancouver, BC and reporting to the Vice President of Development, Marcon’s Director of Development is responsible for proactively working through design development and municipal approval process on multiple projects, including management of all development activities that flow through to the completion of a project. This position plays a key role in ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and maintains the vision set at the outset for the project.

About the Role
The life of a Development Director is varied at Marcon, a key function being the primary Marcon representative in key stakeholder relationships throughout the development process including consultants, city staff; and internal teams such as interior design, marketing & sales, and construction. This position requires critical thinking, problem solving, and a drive to go beyond the immediate scope of the role to make a project successful.
About You
You bring formal qualifications with you (a minimum Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Business Administration, Urban Land Economic Degree or equivalent with additional training in building sciences, construction, architecture)
You believe in lifelong learning and professional development
You have a minimum of 7-10 years in the industry as a Development Manager or Senior Development Manager, completing successful real estate projects and are confident with the role requirements
You are technically savvy and pride yourself on staying up to date on the evolving and changing real estate development landscape
You have excellent contract negotiation skills, managing consultants and the approvals process
You are a driver of results, with an ability to problem solve and overcome challenges creatively to ensure projects are kept on track and within established budgets
You are a team player, working collaboratively within the Development division for the greater good of the company’s strategic direction
You thrive in a fast-paced environment
