WDDS Looking for Human Resources Manager at Woodstock, ON Full Time

Reporting to the CEO, the HR Manager provides strategic and operational leadership in all matters relating to human resources and labour relations, supporting the organization to deliver on its’ Strategic Plan and Vision, Mission and Values. With a staff complement of approximately 240 employees, the successful candidate must:

• Lead the HR team to administer and execute HR functions including, but not limited to, recruitment selection and retention, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management and talent management, recognition and staff morale, attendance awareness, disability management, corrective action, disputes and investigations, terminations and assit with organizational planning and development.
• Ensure effective leadership by providing guidance and interpretation to the leadership team with respect to the HR policies and procedures, the Collective Agreement and other legislative requirements.
• Ensure that provincial and federal legislation is adhered to by keeping abreast of new legislation and regulations and develop HR policy and procedures that comply.
• Ensure effective employee relations by promoting fairness, consistency and realistic organizational requirements. Promote a clear method of commuicating information throughout the workplace.
• Ensure effective labour relations by serving as the management liason in relation to the coordination of bargaining, grievances and arbitrations ensuring that communication is timely and professional. Participates in the Negotiation Committee, the Employer/Employee Relations Committee and the Return to Work Committee.
• Ensure ethics and integrity in the administration of all HR processes and procedures by ensuring Ministry compliance of legislative requirements.

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management. CHRL or CHRP designation would be considered an asset
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a human resources management role
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and experience working within a unionized environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Current Police Check including Vulnerable Screening
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and continue to stay fully vaccinated (boosters, etc.)
