This position will work closely with our Marketing team, as well as our Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of our problems and opportunities. You will work closely with our customers to understand their needs, experience with our technology, and validation of our messaging and strategies.
This position will start out leading marketing management for the first 12 months while gaining industry and product specific knowledge and building relationships with key stakeholders. This position will then focus exclusively on PMM specific responsibilities.

TZOA is an emerging Vancouver-based startup that helps people take control of the air quality in their homes. The current pandemic and increased forest fires have raised awareness of the importance of the air we breathe. Our IoT products not only monitor indoor air quality, they also help control problems by connecting to our customers’ HVAC systems to activate air cleaning.
TZOA has received invention awards from Popular Science and Time Magazine, and has multiple patents for environmental, air quality and optical particle counting technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Performing research through surveys, interviews, analysis of sales data, and developing user personas
Developing the go-to-market strategy including working with product management to define goals and metrics for the product launch
Owning the holistic strategy for a product or feature launch and collaborating with Marketing to plan events
Working with the marketing team to create materials that highlight product benefits
Briefing the press and PR teams on new product releases
Championing our category creation initiative
Training the sales team on articulating the products’ benefits to prospects
Develop sales tools, prospect presentations, and own the customer onboarding process
Researching the market to learn the competitive environment
Testing new products and services to gain a personalized experience
Qualifications and Experience
5 years of Marketing experience, including Marketing Management
2 years of Product Management or Product Specialist/Strategist experience that involved working directly with customers
Experience within a startup environment offering software and/or hardware products
Excellent writing and communication skills, including copywriting and salesmanship
Knowledge of indoor air quality products and the HVAC industry a bonus; must be passionate & willing to continuously learn both
Deep understanding of sales methods and channels through which products are marketed into
Ability to work collaboratively with sales, marketing, product, and engineering teams to meet customer needs
Excellent problem-solving skill and a passion to understand customer problems and devise solutions to solve them
Ability to comprehend and interpret competitor strategies and consumer behaviour
Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate
