Description:
The position is located at the Vancouver Corporate office, reporting to the Manager, Corporate Reporting. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the accounting and management reporting for one of the clients entities.
The Senior Accountant will be required to:
• Working closely with Manager, Corporate Reporting in the preparation and review of financial and management reporting;
• Reviewing, monitoring and documenting key controls, ensuring they are operating efficiently and effectively;
• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals;
• Review of staff journal entries and reconciliations;
• Working closely with the Manager, Corporate reporting to ensure the timely and efficient operation of month-end, quarterly and year-end accounting close processes;
• Participate in financial accounting projects;
• Assist with internal and external audits and reviews; and
• Perform other miscellaneous projects as needed, including trouble-shooting, streamlining the accounting function and cross training with other accountants
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must Have:
-
Completion or near completion of CPA designation or equivalent
-
5+ years of experience within accounting (Financial Statements, Month end, Audit, internal controls.)

Experience with a med-large ERP
-
Advanced Excel (Advanced formulas, Managing large data sets, Pivots, V and Hlookups)
-
Excellent verbal and written communication (ability to communicate with higher level stakeholders and present financial information).

Integrated Management information systems – MGP – Sales System

SAP – R3 or 4Hana

Forestry Experience

SOX
