Our client, a Residential Builder headquartered in Halifax is seeking a Construction Manager to join their team.
The Construction Manager will be responsible for leading the construction team as well as will oversee various ongoing projects. The Construction Manager will report to the Vice President and will work closely with customers and the operations team to ensure successful project delivery.
Salary: 80,000 – 100,000 + bonus.
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of construction projects from start to finish.
- Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and on budget.
- In collaboration with the Vice President of Development, devise business growth plans.
- Lead and coordinate a team of construction professionals.
- Oversee and coordinate the bidding process.
- Negotiate contracts and enforce contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.
- Communicate project status to leadership.
- Ensure the accuracy of contractors’ and suppliers’ pay requests.
- Manage and negotiate change orders with contractors.
- Facilitate collaboration between general contractors and stakeholders to ensure the project is completed within scheduled timeframes and on budget.
- Execute the successful completion and close-out of each project.
- All other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Degree in construction management or related (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management.
- Carpentry experience and or Red Seal Certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and quality standards.
- Knowledge of permits, approval processes and construction standards.
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
