What you will be doing:
Assist in preparation of financial statements within corporate closing schedule and according to Accor Policies and Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts
Assist in analysis and interpretation of financial results to assist and advise the General Manager, Ownership and the Accor Corporate Team when appropriate or in the absence of the Director of Finance
Supervise the accounting department, maintaining a guest focused set of department standards and procedures
Develop key relationships with Department Heads and senior managers to provide financial support, including development and implementation of action plans
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, capital budget and rolling forecasts
Maintain balance sheet analysis on monthly basis with full supporting detail
Prepare accurate cash flow statements and projections on monthly basis and on request
Maximize working capital and cash flow statements and projections on a monthly basis and on request
Ensure successful treasury cash management as set forth in the policies and procedures manual
Ensure compliance with management agreements, contracts and attendant legal documents
Ensure control systems are monitored and audited on a regular basis
Assist in preparation for both internal and external audits
Assist in implementation and completion of special projects as assigned by the DOF
Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current and future.
Assist in development of Operational Leaders with financial procedures and decision making
Recruit and develop an engaged, enthusiastic and guest-focused department with regular feedback and performance reviews
Represent the Accounting office and the DOF in their absence
Actively contribute to hotel overall leadership and direction
Participate in hotel emergency plan and crisis procedures
Adhere to and promotes all Company Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Follow all safety policies
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
Your experience and skills include:
Accounting designation (CPA preferred); Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant field of work (MBA preferred); or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Previous Professional designation or acceptable university degree with an appropriate specialization in Accounting or enrolled in a recognized accounting program with progression to 3rd or 4th level preferred
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and at least 2 years previous accounting experience at a supervisory/managerial level
Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and cross-trained group of progressive accounting professionals
Familiarity with hotel operating systems and software, including Sun Systems, Hyperion, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Silverware, Birchstreet, Watson, Day Force, Opera PMS, Excels
Exceptional administrative, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Highly responsible & reliable with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Visa Requirements: Successful candidate must already be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
