Achev Looking for Software Developer Level 2 at Mississauga, ON Full Time

SUMMARY : The Software Developer will be responsible for the development, testing, debugging, integration and maintenance of the Distance Education Learning Management System (LMS). They will participate in the development of application project plans and contribute effectively to planning and control as needed. The Software Developer will be a team player with technical management skills, a strong sense of ownership and the ability to communicate at all levels. The Software Developer will serve as the main technical resource for the LINC Home Study Canada and Online English Stage 1-2 programs, by providing maintenance, support and integration of developed applications, and investigating/solving problems with the website, testing system and admin portal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Distance Education Manager, the Software Developer will be responsible for:

• Identifying appropriate solutions to assigned programming tasks
• Collaborating with other team members as needed in the development of solutions
• Estimating the time to complete the programming changes on the test site
• Monitoring programming solutions for bugs/defects on the live site
• Proactively addressing identified bugs
• Supporting data security solutions
• Maintaining databases
• Monitoring LMS performance

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A degree or diploma in a computer science-related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be highly proficient in web-based application development and have at least 2 years of professional experience in web-based programming using Visual Studio, VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET web services, MVC and ADO.NET
• Demonstrated skills in the following tools are required: JavaScript, HTML5, XML, CSS, JQuery, and AJAX
• Excellent knowledge of LINQ, SQL Server, and stored procedures
• Must be familiar with Team Foundation Server
• Experience with CMS systems
• Familiar with Select PDF Library for .NET
• Familiar with Crystal Reports
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and research their usability factors
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, interpersonal and time-management skills.
