Actalent Looking for Construction Management Advisor at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada Full Time

Our client, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, is looking to add a Construction Manager/Owners Rep to their team. Your priority will be to represent Metro Vancouver’s interest at site, coordinating what is happening at site with the contractor and the engineer of record.

This person will ensure construction timelines, costs, and materials are in compliance with contract terms and conditions. You will be responsible for updating the team with construction progress updates. You will manage requests from the contractor and process any change orders that need to happen aiding the engineer of record. Upon the contractor identifying any deficiencies on site your job will be to schedule the compliance and coordination of inspections needed.

You will also be there to ensure the engineer of record is on site to clear the appropriate construction gates. This role will be based out of the Annacis Island Wastewater treatment plant with administrative tasks performed at an onsite prefab. 100% of your time will be spent on site reporting to various project managers You will work in a team of 3 people and be expected to provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff. The is a long term project with a contract ending in 2027

Job Duties:

Advise on Various Issues at the Annacis Island Plant

Review Contractors construction schedule, change orders, and be willing to push back on contractor when need be.

Review Anything that falls under contractor claims

Liase between contractors and Metrovan on specific activities that Metrovan has asked them to get involved in (this varies).

Very much consulting related based on their previous experience

Reviews work products that the safety coordinator or construction coordinator put together

Sit in and advise on construction meetings

Communicate with client to propose solution

Job Qualifications:

• 15+ years of construction experience. At least 10+ years of these have to be in North America as a construction manager/owner rep
• CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or Engineering degree
• Experience acting as the Construction Manager on projects ranging from 20M – 50M. (If these have been closer to 20M like to have completed more than 2. If 50M+ having worked on 1 project will suffice)
• Previous experience leading a team of 5+ people
• Soft Skills – communication, organization, collaboration and proactive
• WWTP construction experience
• Deep construction experience
