Actalent Looking for Controls Engineer at Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Full Time

• Description:* Our client’s Global Propulsion System Manufacturing Engineering team is looking for experienced controls and automation engineers to help lead toward an all-electric future. Our team is responsible for the process controls development and execution of manufacturing systems that support electric drive unit, battery assembly, and battery cell projects that will produce EV products that will power the automobiles of the future.
• Procure/launch new and major programs for controls engineering o Maintain working contacts with vendors, other internal engineering disciplines and management at plant and headquarters o Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes o Stay abreast of new automation controls technology o Support deployment of new technology to minimize risks o Perform simultaneous engineering activities with ME and equipment supplier representatives o Support the development of ME error proofing plans o Participate in safety g-Risk activities with cross functional groups o Lead approval controls drawings, build reviews, and conducts controls run-offs at OEM site o Support & actively interact with manufacturing operations group o Support deployment of best common systems and methods o Continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness & safety * Qualifications:* o 5+ years of Controls/Robotics experience in the Automotive industry o Experience with Rockwell Automation or Siemens PLC and HMI’s o CNC experience o Launch and/or Plant experience highly preferred o Knowledge and the ability teach both GPS and VS controls standards highly preferred
