Actalent Looking for Electromechanical Laboratory Technologist at Oakville, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Must-haves

• 1-2 years of experience troubleshooting and working on Circuit Board Assembly, Wiring, Microcontrollers, Arduino for the automotive industry
• Experience and knowledge using hand and power tools i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers ratchets
• Ability to read blue prints and understand basic GD&T
• College diploma in a related field, at the Technologist level. Mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronics is preferred

Nice-to-haves

• Must be self-motivated, detailed orientated, results orientated and able to deliver multiple project activities in a fast-paced fluid environment
• Must have good communication and customer-support skills, and proven ability to organize and document experimental conditions and results

Job Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, hydraulic and thermal testing in support of day-to-day operation of a laboratory for automotive components.
• Support lab team members in developing and building new test equipment.
• Compose laboratory reports, sample collection and compilation of data in support of process and product investigations.
• Deliver for timely/rapid turnaround time for lab requests and provide support for lab equipment maintenance and adherence to H&S and Quality standards.
• Perform metallurgical, mechanical, cleanliness and chemical testing in support of day-today operation of laboratory for automotive component process development and/or new product or process development
• Compose laboratory reports, sample collection and compilation of data in support of process and product investigations
• Deliver timely laboratory support for problem solving, material and process investigations, and product development activities
• Deliver for timely/rapid turnaround time for lab requests, and provide support for lab equipment maintenance and adherence to H&S and Quality standards
