Description
Blood analyzer cartridges for critical care and hospital use the process is automated, candidates need to learn automated printing/labelling for regulated products.
Tasks:
working on production line that does blood cartridge manufacturing which have a minute level printing onto a metal strip
candidates observe how the printing is done (droplet in correct shape etc.) – requires intense focus
quality control is very important – morally its on candidates to make sure the products are up to grade – blood case analyzers in high demand, critical care units and intensive care units and if they aren’t done properly in the raw material phase can effects someone’s results/health
heavy documentation – must document every time there is a change/abnormality (who was called, what department what was the result) – must be able to do this digitally and efficiently after training period
Skills
diploma (high school min – college ideal) with a strong background in medical or science or engineering or any kind as asset
1+ years experience working experience in manufacturing or production at a company that has standards to comply with
experience working in automated environment with automated machines/production following an SOP
attention to detail/ability to focus while moving quickly on production line
ability to stand for long period of time and have intense focus, can’t get distracted or they may miss something
the production line moves very quickly, someone with a background in medical/food/pharma with education in science or medical will be best at this job
Salary
$19.76/h for day shift work
$21.74/h for night shift front of week
$22.72/h for night shift back of week
Schedule
12 hours shifts
days 7AM – 7PM days or nights 7PM – 7AM
front of week 1 Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed – week 2 Sun, Mon, Tues
back of week 2 Thurs, Fri, Sat – week 2 Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat
Work environment
working at stations on the production line/floor – not a clean room environment but do have to wear gowns
room temperature is anywhere between 23- 25 degrees
will be standing but there are chairs if candidates need a quick break but the job can’t be done sitting the whole time
production line moves quickly so candidates need to be able to assess/catch errors right away
automation process in the whole production floor so will need to be comfortable with automated computerized production machines
Performance expectations
the entire training process take anywhere between 8-12 weeks
candidates performance is based on how well they document errors on the line and get precise with their cards
the ideal candidate after the training period can monitor the line on their own and document anomalies – Knows when to call a supervisor and when to document and move on – this is provided in training but will be held to the training standards when they are on their own
all documentation is digital and candidates cannot be lazy about it – if a product goes to market with an issue it needs to be possible to trace back all the way to raw material/production to see who handled what, can’t afford to miss checks/documentation as their reputation and sales is on the line
manage the line on their own – documentation of anomalies
operators are directly working on the line, then there are lead hands then there is shift supervisor and a manager
front liners to pick up and note if anything has moved, manage minor corrections candidates can do on their own providing in the training
must record everything that is happening, can’t be lazy with the documentation ex. what time of printing was observed and when was engineering support called in the entries have to be very precise and correct
training all done in English and same with written documentation so will need to be able to follow complex verbal and written documents for training
