The Opportunity
AES is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their exciting downtown Vancouver workplace. Working closely with the Project Accountants, the Junior Accountant is responsible for project accounting, month-end/year-end tasks, the assistance of new ERP implementation etc. Other duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.

The Role
Work on preparation and submission of monthly project billings
Complete project setup and respond to project management inquires
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Assist ERP implementation; test data, log issues and summarize results.
Assist AR collection and client inquiries.
Support month-end and year-end close process
Liaise within the team and with other department stakeholders to improve financial and operational procedures
Other related duties as required or assigned
You will have the opportunity to complete projects independently or with support from the finance staff. Working conditions are primarily in-office from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Qualification
Accounting Diploma or degree
Able to deal with high volume transactions and time management.
Proactive attitude, strong communication, problem-solving, time management and analytical skills
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
Strong attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills awareness and comprehension
A commitment to ongoing learning and an openness to new processes
Able to prepare, relay/explain financial data
Nice to have
Experience implementing and working with ERP systems across an organization would be an asset. Deltek experience is a strong asset
Project Accounting experience in A/E/C (Architecture/Engineer/Construction) industry
