A new Financial Accountant role just opened up!

Agilus is recruiting for a Financial Accountant in the Oil and Gas Industry in Calgary, Alberta.

In this role, you will provide various data analysis reports to multiple stakeholders and have a working knowledge of the US financials. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will be involved in various tasks around the company’s operations and collaborate with our Canadian Financial reporting team regarding activity and results.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial entries, encompassing capital, revenue, and operating expense accruals. Cross-training will provide a comprehensive understanding of all finance transactions
• Prepare and monitor account reconciliations for timely resolution
• • Perform data analysis for various ad hoc projects to research variances or provide data for others in the company
• Gain an understanding of how other accounting teams impact the financials
• Assist with internal and external audits, including sample testing requested
• Various projects as needed to determine the accuracy of financials

Successful candidates will have:

• Minimum five years of operational accounting experience, preferably in oil and gas
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Experience in audits and SOX compliance testing
• Essential knowledge of the oil and gas industry
• Proficiency in manipulating large datasets and utilizing analytic tools
• Ability to manage capacity and deliverables independently and proactively raise risks to the leader
• Cross-functional relationship-building skills and effective communication with various audiences (non-accountants, senior leaders, etc.)
• Ability to thrive in an inclusive and collaborative workplace and welcome diverse perspectives
