This is a 1-year fixed term position on AIMCo’s Collateral team based in Edmonton, Alberta.
Join a team of supportive and determined professionals who are responsible for calculating, processing and managing the margin requirements for several trading strategies across the AIMCo asset classes. Collateral is centralized across the organization and exchanged on Repos, OTC Derivatives, Exchange Traded Derivatives (Futures, Cleared Swaps), Prime Brokerages and Securities Lending transactions. The team works closely with Portfolio Managers to forecast exposures and optimize collateral balances to ensure there is sufficient liquidity.
The Analyst, Collateral Management, is responsible for supporting the Collateral Management team’s daily operations and initiatives including counterparty risk management, liquidity operations and securities lending analysis. The Analyst will work closely with the team and internal clients to analyze firm-wide collateral metrics in the development of collateral management reporting and counterparty risk measures.

Within the first year on the team, a successful analyst can expect to contribute to the broadening of the collateral function within the organization. The analyst will continuously look for opportunities to gain efficiencies and improve processes within the department. These efficiencies will be developed through involvement in new and current projects, providing back-up support to the senior members on the team, and through strong knowledge of investment instruments, programming skills, and organizational experience.
