Here is What You Will Do
Accountable for the coordination, supervision and analysis of overall logistics operations at the Regional level. This includes ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations for trucks, drivers and products and minimizing the distribution cost while maintaining excellent service levels to internal and external customers. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring team coaching and development for employees reporting to them and works in collaboration with the Regional and National teams to ensure the appropriate delivery of required products.
Manages a team of employees in their Region, if applicable. Validates all schedule and overtime in the region for their team. Ensures that each driver has adequate means to achieve the deliveries. Responsible for the driver training. Supervises drivers on a daily basis at their branch location: emergency delivery management, staffing issues, schedule & overtime. Supports managers to solve an emergency or staffing challenge linked with logistics.
Daily communication of order errors and missed pickups are reported and resolved. Manages the driver end-of-day check-in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety, and equipment issues. Sets and monitors productivity, service, and safety targets for each route and driver. Works closely with Operation to identify Cylinder inventory management.
Clear understanding and effective utilization of GPS tracking data analysis as applicable to route management, efficiency and driver safety.
Conduct cost saving opportunity analysis, monitor budgets and provide recommendations for improvement.
Ensures that annual performance evaluations are completed for all direct reports
Here is What You Will Need
College certificate or Degree in logistics or operations management
5 – 7 years in Logistics / Operations
Experience working with private fleet and maintenance program
Knowledge of provincial transport operating guidelines including driving hour limits, log book requirements and regulations (only applicable in certain regions).
Experience with TDG and WSIB/WCB regulatory requirements provincially and federally.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills / PC Miller, AS400, GPS Tracking data reporting asset
General knowledge of medical gas products, respiratory disease, and oxygen delivery equipment is an asset.
