You are a highly motivated, tech-savvy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to making a difference in the Alberta Health Services and health care system. You are detail-oriented, a good communicator, efficient and able to work effectively with a large team. You are comfortable dealing with frequent interruptions, communicating with clinicians, overnight travel and carrying out test scripts on a computer. In the role of Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR) Tester in AHS Information Technology (IT), you will be joining the technology program team supporting Connect Care, an exciting multi-year initiative that will transform the delivery of healthcare for all Albertans through the implementation of a provincial clinical information system. Your role as the Administrative Support III – Technical Dress Rehearsal Tester supports the Connect Care: Non-Medical devices project. Technical Dress Rehearsal is a critical readiness activity in which numerous computers and their peripherals, such as e-signature pads and printers, must pass a series of tests prior to Connect Care’s launch. As part of a large team of testers, you are responsible for testing many computers, printers and peripheral devices that will be used for Connect Care and will be tasked to run detailed test scripts in the Clinical Information System. You will need to work with clinicians to understand the particular function of devices in their associated care settings/scenarios, confirm the right scripts for the area, and then follow step-by-step instructions in order to provide a pass/fail result with comments. You will be responsible for basic troubleshooting for test failures and any logging failures in detail to assist in the resolution of issues. This role will require provincial travel, mostly in Calgary Zone but may include travel to other zones. There are multiple openings.
As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to deal effectively with challenging or sensitive situations and seek guidance from your manager when required. Ability to follow a written script (procedure) precisely and accurately. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job: walking around and carrying a laptop, clipboard and documents for the majority of a shift, working in a hospital environment, and collecting information in awkward locations (e.g., under desks). Ability to travel to various sites, mostly in the local metro area but also occasional provincial travel. Basic computer literacy/technical savviness. Confidence in interacting with clinicians and staff at all levels. Willingness to enter patient rooms and other care spaces and, if necessary, take protective measures such as wearing a mask, gown and gloves.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in health care and/or Information Technology. Experience with Testing Software and/or experience using a Clinical Information System.
