Alberta Health Services (AHS), IT Asset Management Services, is looking for an experienced IT Analyst II – Application Packager. The successful candidate will help improve automation and the end user experience at AHS. The candidate selected will be familiar with implementing best practices that have been acquired in an enterprise organization – AHS manages over 90,000 workstations. The ideal candidate will be able to assess gaps within processes and suggest opportunities for improvement. The candidate will be driven by quality improvement and will be a motivated self-starter. Some of the activities performed will include: Application Packaging, data collection, asset inventory, data analysis, report generation, systems management, project and operational activities. The candidate should have the capability to resolve complex problems while working independently with minimal guidance by applying best practices and high level guidelines or polices. Must have excellent problem analysis, problem solving, prioritization, and organization skills. You will utilize your in depth analytical, technical, and related skills in this position. Candidates who are client-focused with excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) will be valued.
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience creating software packages. Extensive Windows desktop Operating System knowledge. Proven experience using: AdminStudio, App-V Sequencing knowledge, PowerShell Scripting, VB scripting, Windows Installer (MSI).
Preferred Qualifications:
Ivanti EPM experience. Proven organization, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience working in a large enterprise.
