Your Opportunity:
This position reports to and is accountable to the Team Lead of Pharmacy Information Management and is part of the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Integration portfolio. As a member of Provincial Operations in Pharmacy Services, this position will help establish the foundation for a data-driven, evidence-based program to address the full scope of pharmacy-related analytics for the organization, bridging the gap between data and the business. You will work as part of a growing team (data analysts and clinicians) leveraging your analytics background to support the completion of different business objectives in Pharmacy Services. This position can reside anywhere in Alberta. This position will: Complete statistical analyses related to Pharmacy Services strategic objectives. Support quality improvement, research, clinical appropriateness and cost saving initiatives. Create dashboards and visualizations for a wide variety of audiences including senior leadership, managers, and front-line staff. Collaborate with the clinical team members to present findings to key stakeholders to support business decisions. Integrate with other analytic teams to expand use of other datasets with pharmacy data.
Description:
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Master’s level education in one of the following fields: statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics or equivalent will be considered. Minimum three years’ related experience in a healthcare environment, or evidence that similar experience gained in other technical environments could be applied to healthcare. Minimum five years’ experience working with spreadsheets, databases and tools for querying, integrating, analyzing, interpreting, reporting and disseminating data. Minimum five years’ experience in the application of information technology, database design and information management. Must have Oracle SQL or other comparable database query and report writing experience. Must have experience with Python, R, or other comparable statistical software program. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to distill statistical results into visual and verbal presentations. Comfortable presenting to different audiences (front line staff, managers, senior leaders). Demonstrated time management skills including ability to switch priorities and multitask is required. Demonstrated ability to be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Must be accurate, reliable, precise, cooperative, self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of training in (or knowledge of) modern data science methodologies. Knowledge of SQL and databases.
