An Operating Room Technician is required for the OR Level III, an exciting and dynamic 18-theatre Surgical Suite Unit. Challenging experience in neurosurgery, organ transplant, trauma, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, general surgery, and orthopedics will be provided to the successful applicant. The Operating Room Technician is an integral perioperative member of the patient care team. Assists with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Performs other related duties as required. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current operating room experience in an acute care setting is required. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment. Specific advanced authorization from CLPNA to practice in the operating room is required.
