As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for the packaging, distributing, shipping medications and the management and replenishment of medication inventory levels under the general supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of purchasing, receiving, and inventory control of pharmaceuticals to minimize outdated medications. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Experience with Windows-based computer applications. Familiarity with the operation of various office equipment, unit dose packaging equipment and pharmaceutical compounding equipment. Good organizational, problem solving and decision-making ability. Must be able to adapt to new technologies and changing workflow patterns. Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Must be accurate, reliable, precise, cooperative, able to demonstrate effective service attitude, and self-motivated. Must be fluent in the English language (written and verbal). Must be able to type (40 words per minute). Must be in good physical condition as the majority of the shift involves: heavy lifting, standing, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods of time. Must display tact, courtesy, discretion and respect confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of EPIC (Pharmacy Module) computer software. Recent hospital pharmacy related experience and a working knowledge of Pharmacy terms and medication names.
