The Royal Alexandra Hospital’s (RAH) Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Units are looking for skilled, energetic, driven individuals to join the team as a Psychometrist I. These units provide acute psychiatric care to children and youth experiencing challenges and concerns with their mental health. Working under the supervision of the unit Psychologist, you will provide testing to assist the psychiatric, nursing and allied health team with diagnostic clarification, stabilization and treatment. An ability to engage with emotionally dysregulated children and youth is essential to being successful in this role. Excellent testing, communication, and observation skills are required.
Description:
As a Psychometrist, you will provide services related to psychological assessment, working under the direction of the responsible psychologist(s). You will meet with patients and administer and score a variety of psychological tests, and record behavioural observations. Your information and results are provided to effectively support the psychologist(s) responsible for interpreting assessment data and any related clinical decision making or recommendations. You may also provide support to psychologists in their research and or evaluation activities.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Candidate must be trained and able to administer the following assessment tools: Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V). Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV). Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement – Third Edition (WJ-3).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference given to candidates that are trained in the following: Child and Adolescent Memory Profile (ChAMP), Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System (D-KEFS), NEPSY-2, Personality Assessment Inventory – Adolescent (PAI-A), Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test – Fifth Edition (PPVT-5), Expressive Vocabulary Test – Third Edition (EVT-3), Rey Complex Figure Test and Recognition Trial (RCFT), Beery-Buktenica Development Test of Visual-Motor Integration (BEERY-VMI)
