As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the individual will be responsible for assisting with the operational needs in the Critical Care Program at the UAH (GSICU/Burn Unit). It is a program requirement to be trained and work on GSICU (3C3/3C4 & 6A8) as well as any future additions to GSICU, Burn Unit and Acute Burn Clinic. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficit occurs.
Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Prioritization, organization, and time management skills required. Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required. Ability to function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team required.
