Do you love turning ideas into real applications? Are you passionate about driving product development and increasing business value for your company? When it comes to working with a team, you’re the whole package – team player, supportive coach and always the enthusiastic cheerleader. We’re looking for someone to lead, coach and mentor a team of resourceful product owners who love to solve business problems through technology. Your team works with several agile delivery teams responsible for building and maintaining the applications used at AMA. Your team will gather requirements from stakeholders, refine vision into clear functional requirements, write user stories and acceptance criteria and then rationalize, plan and prioritize the work to be executed. You love to walk in that space that connect business and technology.
WHAT MOVES YOU
You thrive on finding simple solutions to complicated problems and explaining them to others comes as naturally to you as breathing.
You’re a master multi-tasker who can juggle a variety of priorities with ease — you have no problem getting things done.
You love Agile development and get energized driving this process forward!
You’re a flexible and responsive team player who is comfortable working with all levels in an organization.
You love to break down major work items into feature level deliverables and minimum viable product releases.
You get what it means to be part of a team and thrive in a collaborative environment—whether open-office, remote or hybrid. For you, it’s about people before place.
You believe that a team is greater than the sum of its parts.
You love to remove roadblocks to allow product owners to execute their deliverables with our agile teams.
You can see the big picture and how different applications can work together.
You handle even the tightest deadlines with a cool head and clear vision.
You lead and tackle every project, no matter its size, with enthusiasm, curiosity and a head for innovation.
You work best in a culture of learning where you feel supported, motivated to grow, and are given ample opportunity to be a top performer.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Reporting jointly to the Director, Member Journey Transformation you’ll provide guidance to a team of product owners who are responsible for supporting the development needs of several AMA business lines
Help your team level up and empower them to achieve their goals on a continual basis.
Develop partnerships with business units to better understand needs and priorities in order to best develop, enhance and maintain AMA business applications.
Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
You’ll evaluate design and implement new products, tools and technology that could address both known and unknown organizational need.
You’ll ensure that you and your team consistently produce quality products and service.
Work closely and collaboratively with other project/delivery teams, business areas and external parties to ensure interdependencies are identified early and managed successfully.
You’ll serve as ultimate escalation point for problems within your respective area, driving problem resolution.
You’ll monitor and provide updates to executives on strategic initiatives.
Conduct regular analysis to identify opportunities and develop strategies to improve performance on key KPIs.
Foster an environment where learning is constant, collaboration is the norm, sharing is key, and mistakes are lessons and not failures.
You’ll adhere to AMA policies on application security, operating procedures and protocols.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
You have post-secondary education in a related field.
You’re no newbie – you already have 5 years of experience in product ownership or product management.
Agile development expert (it speaks to this in a few places, but it might make sense to emphasize this more in the first paragraph of the profile summary)
You have experience leading teams in an agile/scrum environment.
You know how to build strong business relationships with clients and members of the team.
Must have experience driving Agile product development process. Agile (Lean, SCRUM, Kanban) certification would be an asset.
You have strong communication and presentation skills, for both technical and business issues.
