Job Description

The incumbent is responsible for friendly, efficient service following all Algonquin College Food Services operating standards, policies, and procedures.
Cashier Assistant – To provide friendly and efficient cashier transactions at the Food Service location while maintaining a hygienic work area. The incumbent will assist in stocking shelves and making coffee when able.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Completes cashier transactions and provide correct change if required;
- Ensure drink fridges, coffee area and cashier shelving are stocked;
- Provides efficient service, keeping area clean at all times including servery counters;
- Cleans, cuts and prepares fruit and vegetables for use in daily menu as required;
- Prepares sandwiches as required;
- Performs housekeeping duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma;
- Experience handling cash if applying for cashier positions an asset;
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure;
- Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill;
- Knowledge in kitchen sanitation and safety standards an asset.

Tuesday – Thursday 09:00AM – 14:00PM
Friday 09:00AM – 13:30 PM
