Financial Analyst IT Finance & Performance Management The Financial Analyst will work directly with the Manager, Team Lead, and Senior Financial Analysts to support accounting activities, month-end close, reconciliation, and variance analysis with an aim to drive improved financial performance and support to our technology business partners. If you are a number-oriented, energetic personality with a keen interest in aggregating data, recognizing patterns, and financial analysis, then this is the role for you! You will have every opportunity to extend your skills and gain new ones, through on-the-job coaching/ development and appropriate industry training. In this role, you will directly and regularly interact with other team members in finance, operations, corporate reporting, and occasionally audit teams. In addition, you will have exposure to ad-hoc project work that will allow you to work with our project teams, provide recommendations, and present findings to finance and our IT Senior leadership teams.
Role Designation: Hybrid 1-2 days in Office

Here’s what our Financial Analyst will do:

• Day-to-day processing of various accounting and operational transactions to ensure the company finances and supporting documentation are maintained in an effective, up-to-date, and accurate manner.
• Participate in and support the Monthly closing processes. Prepare, analyze, book, and reconcile monthly journal entries.
• Prepare and review monthly accruals for various expenses: professional fees and contractor spend, communication, travel, training, project expenses, etc., ensuring accuracy and completeness of all entries.
• Maintain accounting schedules, analyze accounts, and reconciliation of various financial accounts.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process and support the monthly and quarterly forecasting and reporting process.
• Gather information (i.e. Projected expenses, and headcount information) from ACG Technology teams to develop annual financial and headcount plans.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial models by reconciling the data and combining systems data with forecast data to track key metrics and KPIs for the ACG IT department.
• Identify, recommend, and seize opportunities to lead process improvements within the IT Finance and ACG technology teams to help strengthen decision making, controls, governance and data quality.
• Assist in the creation, documentation and implementation of Policy and Procedures to enhance Internal Controls
• Identify opportunities to utilize technology and technology tools to simplify and improve reporting processes.
• Develop financial models to support automation and finance effectiveness, provide analysis of trends and forecasts, and recommend actions for optimization of opportunities.
• Support department as junior finance partner and work with other Finance team members to provide backup assistance as required.

Qualifications:

We think you’ll be an amazing fit for this position if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or other related fields.
• 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis & reporting. Technology reporting is an advantage.
• Accounting designation (CPA) or working towards one is an asset but is not required.
• Working knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Hyperion, Lawson, EPM) is an asset but is not required.
• Strong / Advanced Excel skills, experience with data collection, and analytical skills including the ability to manage, manipulate and streamline large volumes of data including pivot tables and modeling.
• Excellent attention to detail is required and written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates a commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and speaking up to provide and lead positive recommendations.
• Great team player with strong organizational & time management skills.
