Health Outcomes/Economics Scientist – Remote based in EST Canada
Alphanumeric is hiring a Health Economics/Outcomes Scientist to work remotely for one of the biggest Pharmaceutical companies in the world. As a HEOR Scientist, you will lead, design and adapt health economic models for submission to Canadian reimbursement authorities, together with overseeing the real-world evidence and outcomes research program to address data gaps relevant to reimbursement submissions, and to the launch of our innovative assets. The Health Outcomes Scientist works within a cross-functional team that includes staff from Medical Affairs, Reimbursement, Regulatory, and Marketing

Candidates need to be based in the Eastern time zone due to business hours, and be available to go on-site (addresses below) for important meetings when requested, once every other month as needed.
Conditions:
Working hours: Monday to Friday ideally 8AM – 5PM EST but flexible, 37.5 Hours/Week
Contract: 1 year with potential for extension
Salary: 85.00 CAD$/hour
Type of Employment: Contractor
Type of Work: Remote but must be willing to go on-site for important meetings/engagements (less than 5% travel required)

Mandatory Requirements:
- Masters and/or Ph.D. in a field related to health technology assessment, health economics and outcomes research, epidemiology, public health, health economics, or biostatistics.
- Experience with reimbursement environments in Canada and knowledge of health technology assessment processes and requirements in Canada.
- At least 2 years of experience leading epidemiological, health outcomes, or real-world observational research in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with biostatistical methods, systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
- Knowledge of administrative and other Canadian databases that may be applied to address research questions would be an asset.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submit and present health economic and budget impact models/real-world evidence to reimbursement bodies, researchers, and private and public payers.
- In collaboration with cross-functional partners, develop real-world evidence and outcomes research projects to address data gaps relevant to reimbursement submission and launch of assets, while ensuring alignment with the medical strategic plan.
- Manage relationships with external consultants and CRO’s for GSK’s real-world evidence and health outcomes projects.
Position Summary:
- Lead, design and oversee the real-world evidence and outcomes research program to address data gaps relevant to reimbursement submissions, and to the launch of our innovative assets.
- Lead, design and adapt health economic models for submission to Canadian reimbursement authorities.
- Disseminate research findings through national and international conference presentations and submission of peer reviewed manuscripts within high impact journals.
- Collaborate with local and global GSK colleagues to define data gaps and develop evidence generation strategies to close these gaps.
- Provide expert consultation to cross functional team members on study design, statistical analysis, and potential impacts of new research.
- Support complex decision making and strategic planning across the therapeutic area-specific portfolio.
- Influence the global research program to address Canadian research needs, where appropriate.
- Cultivate relationships with external experts in outcomes research and explore ongoing opportunities for collaboration.
