We are looking for a Building Technician for our offices located near the Rosemont metro station. This is a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
– Inspect and make an inventory of the various buildings.
– Develop building inspection processes and procedures and train stakeholders on these issues.
– Analyze and diagnose problems with building envelopes, common areas of dwellings and electromechanical infrastructure.
– Compile data and carry out cost-benefit study reports concerning investments in terms of maintenance, major repairs, renovations…
– Ensure preventive maintenance measures of the sectors concerned and monitor them.
– Contribute to the preparation of statistical reports and estimates of renovation costs and major repairs of the building stock.
– Assist the director in the preparation of expert appraisal files or preliminary studies, recommend investment scenarios to maintain the building stock in good condition and participate in the programming of the works.
– Entrust and follow up on special mandates with specialized firms.
– Collaborate in energy consumption controls, produce analysis tables to evaluate deviations, participate in the issuance of recommendation reports, and follow up.
– Create and update existing databases.
Profile sought
– Technical DEC in building mechanics, architecture or equivalent.
– 1 year of experience in a similar position
Skills required
– Excellent knowledge of building construction and renovation techniques.
– Ability to evaluate construction/renovation costs.
– Knowledge of service contract management and construction standards.
– Good level of written and spoken French.
– Functional English.
– Ability to write reports.
– Fluency in a computer environment.
