The human resources generalist will oversee recruitment, employee onboarding, employee relations and employee file management for their Canada locations. This person will work closely with management and employees to ensure that all HR-related needs are met and that the company’s goals and objectives are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for external and internal job postings, initial resume review and candidate screening.
• Pre-employment screening and processing.
• New employee onboarding, to include first day communication, orientation, and assisting with benefit enrollment.
• Serve as first point of contact for HR related support.
• Understand and apply applicable employment standards, requirements and legislation for consistency, compliance and efficiency within the organization.
• Monitor the organizational culture so that it supports the attainment of the company’s goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
• Conduct training and development programs for employees.
• Facilitate employee terminations and exit interviews.
• Administer and interpret company policies representing the organization in personnel and employment law compliance related investigations.
• Assist and support all HR activities and execute other duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• University degree, HR diploma, or equivalent
• 3-4 years human resources experience required, with recruiting focus preferred
• Bilingual (written and verbal) in French and English required
• Knowledge of regional legal employment landscape (i.e. labor standards, OSHA, etc.)
• Experience working with an HRIS required
• Limited travel within Canada may be required
