RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative (20% of your work)
– Read the plan to be able to explain his/her responsibilities to each subcontractor;
– If the project has already been built, go see the final product to better understand the project;
– Occasionally, make or redo quantity calculations;
– Find materials and, if necessary, fetch equipment;
– Make the necessary additions to the plans for the smooth running of the project;
– Plan the work of subcontractors and constantly readjust during the construction period;
– Ensure, by monitoring the daily work, compliance with negotiated plans and deadlines;
– If necessary, validate with the client or his/her representative (architect) the specifications during construction;
– Discuss daily with the project manager the progress of the work and ask for his/her support if necessary;
– Keep a binder with detailed information about the work done daily (day reports, hours, schedule by subcontractor) and contacts of the day;
– Participate in weekly site meetings.
Site coordination (80% of work)
– Trace the construction of the walls, openings and fallouts on the floor. Judge compliance with plans. Highlight errors or concerns to the client (architect);
– Draw the furniture plan or specifications for the walls. Judge compliance with plans and highlight errors or concerns to the project authority;
– Ensure a close follow-up of the work of each subcontractor. Have adjustments made as required.
– Manage priorities;
– Find creative solutions when unforeseen problems arise;
– Keep the work area clean;
– Manage all subcontractors under your responsibility (construction site).
In this regard:
– Communicate expectations effectively;
– Make the necessary follow-ups;
– Evaluate individual results;
– Give feedback;
– Take the necessary steps to rectify situations that do not meet expectations if necessary (arrangement with the subcontractor manager for another resource);
– Maintain a positive work climate;
– Ensure daily compliance with occupational safety and health rules;
– Ensure the safety of equipment in the workplace;
– Perform all other tasks related to the smooth running of the company’s operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
– College diploma in architectural technology or equivalent experience;
– 2 to 5 years of experience in site coordination;
– Versatility of construction skills (generalist);
– Ability to work long hours (availability);
– Good French and English (spoken).
