We are seeking a multi talented individual with a proven track record and proven credentials.
You are a seasoned professional with at least 10 years high paced, high responsibility experience, with an understanding of home construction. This is not an internship position.
You have a PMP or equivalent, are computer savvy, well versed in QuickBooks and sophisticated excel spreadsheets, quick learner with new proprietary programs.
English proficiency is a must. Both orally and written.
You are a great communicator. You are resourceful, can work alone and are deadline oriented. Responsibility and accountability come naturally.
You have the confidence to ask questions. You have a solid understanding of bookkeeping and Canadian accounting principles.
Canadian bookkeeping/accounting experience in a business-to-business environment in a bookkeeping capacity is a must. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
– Provide accounting and clerical support and assistance for the financial department.
– Recording and maintaining multiple set of books for custom construction projects.
– Processing purchases, expenses, revenues, invoices and payments into the company accounting software.
– Record financial data into general ledger accounts.
– Credit card statement entry and reconciliations to company general ledger accounts monthly.
– Bank and general ledger account(s) reconciliations.
– Monthly reoccurring and general journal entries.
– Other admin / clerical tasks from time to time, as required by finance and other team members.
– Working and hands-on knowledge, experience with proficiency and proven track record for the following; Quickbooks Desktop, all Microsoft Suite Excel, Word, PowerPoint and a VPN network.
You are a mature person with effective problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
You are a team player who has a sense of humour, with a can-do attitude, a common-sense approach, and a sense of urgency to see tasks through to completion.
You are an organized, enthusiastic and professional who is self-motivated, flexible, adaptive and works under minimum direction with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail ensuring accurate paperwork.
You have excellent time management skills and can effectively manage competing priorities ensuring work is completed within expected timelines.
This is a fast pace position where many hats are worn and it’s always a different day, full of challenges and new goals to be achieved. You have a cool head and are not hot tempered. You cope with stress well and have common sense.
You are a people person. Whilst you will be working alone in the office most of the time, it is an interactive position where accurate and polite communication with various types of people happens daily. From the principals of the company, company accountant, engineers to city officials to very talented trades with thick accents. Patience is part of your DNA.
