The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Analyst of Financial Reporting, this position is primarily responsible for driving the full cycle accounting process for Amica’s corporate entities as well as supporting the identification and implementation of process improvements, streamline month end closing, and supporting the Financial Reporting and Compliance team as applicable.
What you will be doing
Drive the full cycle accounting process for corporate entities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
Provide innovative ideas to streamline month end closing
Implement procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of resulting data
Provide balance sheet and income statement analysis monthly, commenting on drivers for key variances between periods
Assisting in preparing and providing schedules to support financial audits
Cross-functional coordination with other teams
Prepare GST/HST, partnership and corporate tax returns
Support in the preparation of annual tax entries
Ensure established accounting controls are adhered to
Support with implementation changes and controls leading to best practice operations
Support system implementations and implementation of new account policies as applicable
What you will bring
Minimum three years in a Finance/Accounting role
Intermediate Excel skills with a demonstrated ability to work with large datasets
Excellent interpersonal skills including written, verbal and presentation
Strong attention to detail & an ability to interpret results to support business growth
Team oriented with an ability to build strong working relationships across the organization
Proven ability to succeed in a high-volume environment
Nice to have or pursuing a Canadian accounting designation
Nice to have experience accounting under IFRS
Nice to have experience using Yardi
Nice to have experience in similar industry
