Based in Southeast Calgary, the finance team is building an effective and responsive team that values initiative, problem-solving and effective communication and understands the importance of timely and insightful accounting information. This is a full-time position, working in-office at our Calgary headquarters. We work in an open, dog friendly, fast-paced environment.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Finance Team Falker, you will find yourself being challenged and equally rewarded in the work that is performed. We are anything but traditional, and as such the job is continually evolving.

As one of our Accounts Payable Falkers, you will be responsible for:

• Receive, review and code invoices with appropriate account codes for reporting purposes. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization of all invoices before processing.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve issues, answer inquiries, and obtain missing information. Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers to facilitate smooth transactions.
• Review and reconcile discrepancies between purchase orders, contracts, and invoices before preparing and processing electronic payments. Ensure payments are processed accurately and timely to vendors.
• Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies. Verify receipts and supporting documentation for expense reimbursement.
• Assist in month-end closing activities by reporting deadlines including account reconciliations and accruals.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all transactions, invoices, and payments.
• Generate and analyze accounts payable reports and provide financial data as needed for management or auditors.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Post-secondary education in a related discipline considered an asset
• Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Dext considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management, prioritization and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment
