Our current opportunities are numerous and extend throughout Alberta and British Columbia. Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) positions with camp accommodations and varying schedules are available. Travel allowances will be considered for those outside of main travel hubs (i.e., Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna and Vancouver).
Essential Responsibilities:
Construction layout and as-builts utilizing Total Station and GPS.
Inspect, operate and maintain survey equipment, tools and vehicles.
Record measurements and other information related to the survey work.
Complete daily field notes, sketches and reports according to job specifications and Apex operational procedures.
Full compliance and active participation in Apex Geomatics’ Health and Safety Program.
Adherence with quality assurance procedures and quality control practices.
Provide mentorship and training to assist with subordinate’s professional development.
Liaise with client representatives to coordinate survey work, priorities and deliverables.
Effective communication and flow of information from field to office.
As a representative of Apex Geomatics, you are to conduct yourself with a professional, cordial attitude with clients.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Geomatics Technology or equivalent amount of related experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficient use and knowledge of Trimble RTK, Robotic Total Stations and related software.
Technical competence and a strong attention to detail.
Ability to process field data and day to day administrative tasks.
Eagerness and willingness to learn new technical skills.
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with team members.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
CSTS 2020 and CSO or BSO certifications.
Line Locating and Advanced UAV Pilot certifications are considered an asset.
Experience with Civil 3D and Trimble Business Centre are also considered an asset.
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-assess drug and alcohol screening.
