Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a General Duty Assistant at Apex Hospital, located in Halifax, NS. General Duty Assistants provide support to patients and nursing staff by assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients. Additionally, they perform general cleaning tasks, maintain inventory, and assist patients with mobility.

Qualifications

• certified nursing diploma/degree is required, but completion of a nursing assistant or personal support worker program is an asset
• Experience in a healthcare environment or long-term care facility preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must possess physical stamina and dexterity for repetitive tasks and lifting patients
• Must provide a recent clear criminal record check
