Aplin Looking for Plant Manager at Calgary, Alberta, Canada Full Time

The David Aplin Group has partnered with an incredible Calgary based client looking to hire a Plant Manager to join their team in Calgary!

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team that includes 5 supervisors, a Health and Safety Coordinator, Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Manager (includes both salaried and hourly employees)

• Have managed a unionized environment and led collective bargaining negotiations.

• Lean Manufacturing experience

• Has led continuous Improvement initiatives.

• Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility (about 10-20% floor time)

• Promote and enforce safety, maintenance, and housekeeping programs.

• Meet/exceed budget and KPIs.

• Manage short-term and long-term labor efficiencies according to ongoing and scheduled plant demands.

• Establish an effective management system to increase efficiency and productivity in the management of warehouses and inventories.

• Identify and recommend improvements to processes to maximize space utilization/layout and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 5 years of plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment

• 5+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, large volume, high-intensity environment, with a high focus on meeting/exceeding measurable metrics.

• 3+ years’ experience managing a full budget process.

• 3+ years’ experience implementing continuous improvement programs.
