Job Summary
As an Accountant of the Corporate Finance Department, this position acts as a key support mechanism to the Associate Director, Corporate Finance through the facilitation of business processes providing the foundation for effective financial stewardship. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the data and reporting necessary to preserve the integrity of the monthly financial reporting package
Job Responsibilities
Generate accurate and timely legal and management financial statements and reports.
Provide the appropriate analysis of month end results to support effective discussions with senior management.
Perform complex financial and consolidation transactions across all entities.
Generate and coordinate month end and year end activities in relation to the production of financial statements to develop budget process and timeframes for presentation to the executive.
Oversee the reconciliation process ensuring completeness and thorough investigation of outstanding items.
Support the preparation of annual tax return and analysis for tax effectiveness.
Undertake Statistics Canada reporting.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes and ensure that budget data is properly set up in the financial reporting system for accurate reporting.
Support the interim and year-end audits by collecting and validating audit data and schedules.
Support and facilitate digital transformation initiatives.
Coach and lead other members of the team with respect to advancing their financial knowledge.
Job Requirements
3 years of financial experience (post designation) in a complex environment. Exposure to consolidations is an asset.
A university degree along with your accounting designation (CPA).
Demonstrated knowledge of financial and accounting practices, standards and regulatory guidelines
Proactive continuous improvement with strong communication and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Desired but not mandatory: SAP (FICO) experience.
