AI Market Researcher – Hybrid

Position Summary

The AI market researcher will play a lead role in identifying latest trends in AI technology, products, customers, and competitors and communicating across the business.

Must be able to work 3 days in the office.

Responsibilities

• Developing a comprehensive understanding of shifts in the AI market

• Following Global AI thought leaders (e.g., Twitter, blogs, research)

• Identify where large AI companies are innovating

• Understand where VCs are investing as a leading indicator of AI

• Build relationships with leading research firms to understand their latest thinking on the market (e.g., Gartner, IDC)

• Build an understanding of the work we are doing for leading customers

• Partner with sales and project leads across the business to understand the AI solutions that we are supporting

• Frequent synthesis of market insights

• Create various levels of information synthesis

• Identify and synthesize strategy and performance of Appen’s main customers

• Review investor presentation, research, and other materials to articulate where our customers are investing in AI for the future

• Form relationships with customer contacts to inform our views

• Collate insights on our main competitors

• Identify news/blog posts / job descriptions / etc that provide an indication on the strategy of our competitors

• Capture insights from our customer facing teams on competitor intelligence

• Estimate market share for our top 5 customers

  Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to synthesize information into the most critical components for the right audience

• Fast to output – can identify the minimum sufficient level of information required for decision making

• Structure communications, both written and verbal presentation

• Self-led – can take a high level direction and translate into action

• Can handle multiple complex tasks in unison

• Strong interest in technology, particularly the use of tech to improve internal operations

• Expereince in AI/ML is a plus

  Qualifications and Experience

• Must have 3 – 5 years experience in market insights and research in a technology field
