This role will develop and grow Apple Education’s overall strategic relationship with key government stakeholders including federal, provincial, and other key stakeholders in public, private and non-profit organizations.
Provide leadership, vision and coordination to significantly advance Apple’s education mission across the broader education community and within key strategic populations delineated by language, culture and unique needs.
Key Qualifications
At least 5 years of established leadership in public policy or extensive experience working in or with federal, provincial or city government (Executive, Legislative or Ministerial).
Consistent track record building coalitions to move an education agenda. Knowledgeable about influencing provincial, local and federal education funding.
Sophisticated knowledge of the legislative and budget process, a robust network of contacts, and an intuitive understanding of how to work with a diverse network of stakeholders in support of Apple’s strategic priorities. Lobbying experience or background is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with the Apple ecosystem or strong technology fluency.
Deep understanding of government, public institutions, and educational organizations. Navigating the interdependencies within Apple is also needed for success. Understanding how government policy and internal/external financials work, and creating strategies for sustaining profitable growth, are key to staying ahead of the competition.
Influence decisions by identifying and contacting advocates, champions and influencers. As a go-to person, you are trusted and comfortable in challenging situations.

Understand and effectively communicate how Apple and all third-party education ecosystem providers tackle complex problems in simple and innovative ways to deliver the best solutions to our customers.

Description
– Ability to navigate government departments, and build senior relationships up to the Ministerial level.
– Build strategic relationships and maintain a network of influencers within the executive and legislative branches of federal and provincial governments, key customers and advocates in the EDU community.
– Evangelize Apple’s vision to high-level decision-makers, motivating elected officials, policymakers and key K-12 districts to support digital learning environments.
– Influence the creation of new, funded education technology pilots or initiatives, modify existing funded technology initiatives to help drive sales, reallocate dollars from other budget areas to make education technology a priority, and remove legislative and regulatory barriers that impede the ability of Apple to successfully conduct business.
– Organize forums and events (e.g. executive briefings, seminars) for political leadership and key partners with a focus on education policy and funding streams.
Provide information and consultation to Apple management and input to the field sales account planning process about technology funding opportunities, research, and public policies.
– Identify and nominate education solution provider candidates for inclusion in the Education Partner Program.
